BACK TO THE FUTURE - THE RIDE IN VR

EZImaginations has worked very hard developing, re-imagining and recreating the original & iconic “BACK TO THE FUTURE” the ride at Universal Studios that sadly ended in 2007.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary we’ve given the “Institute of Future Technology” a facelift while maintaining the same sense of wonder that the original ride brought so many of us around the world whether we were children or adults. This VR experience is a resurrection of the past in true Back to the Future fashion for those that had to opportunity to experience it while it existed & for those whom never had the pleasure. It is our hope that our VR experience will bring back all of the nostalgic emotions inside of our immersive recreation along with a lot of pleasant interactive surprises! We also felt that it was important to try and stay as true to the original ride setup as possible, after all our goal was not to re-invent what was already amazing, but to bring it back to life in the only way we currently can. 

As a special bonus we’ve also recreated the 2015 Hill Valley Town Square, staying as true to the original design as possible. Some things had to be relocated/rearranged given their placement in the movie didn’t work with the scale of the Institute of Future Technology. So we decided to make Hill Valley it’s own fictional area within what you would find in a real theme park. Think of it as “BACK TO THE FUTURE WORLD”, except from your home. All the glimmer and imagination of the real deal with a few changes, and in some ways upgrades as everything has been recreated and modernized from the ground up. Have you ever wished that you could have been on set when they were filming the hoverboard scenes? Now you can walk through the 2015 Hill Valley town square as if you’re actually there!

We’d like to thank Bob Gale & Robert Zemeckis for creating a story that has forever impacted our lives & we thank the hundreds/thousands of film crew members that made the trilogy possible as well as the theme park attraction design teams, engineers and developers of the original ride at Universal Studios, the inspiration behind this virtual development recreation.

Almost 20 years after Universal Studios dismantled the original “BACK TO THE FUTURE” ride forever, now it can live on not only through our memories & echoing through the space time continuum, but it can be re-visited & re-experienced in newly imagined ways through the wonders of Virtual Reality and visual effects animation of the modern age.
